Hungarian-born actress and celebrity Zsa Zsa Gabor, who became a symbol of Hollywood glamour, is in “very unstable” condition at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after a medical emergency on Saturday, her husband said.
Zsa Zsa Gabor has been hospitalized after slipping out of consciousness at her Los Angeles-area home. According to Gabor’s husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, had a high fever and high blood pressure, and that a feeding tube she had previously had in place had become undone and “everything was coming out of her stomach.”
“She is in a very unstable condition,” he said.
Frederic Prinz von Anhalt said he took her to the Bel Air mansion to UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center at about 10:30 a.m. She has been hospitalized numerous times for a variety of serious ailments, including a stroke, over the past decade. The 94-year-old actress/celebrity has been hospitalized repeatedly since July 2010, when she broke her hip falling from bed. Most of Gabor’s right leg was amputated in January because of gangrene.
Zsa Zsa Gabor, who ultimately became as famous for her nine husbands, her sharp wit and colorful personal life as for her movies, has been a fixture of the Hollywood celebrity circuit for more than half-a-century. She appeared in films ranging from “Moulin Rouge” in 1952 to “Queen of Outer Space” in 1958. She also appeared on TV specials, game shows, and guest-starred on various TV series, often playing herself.
