
Uga VII - The University of Georgia mascot UGA 7 has died. UGA died due to heart-related causes. Uga VII died this morning at his home in Savannah with his owners.
UGA VII aka UGA 7, an English bulldog, the University of Georgia mascot, took over his duties in August 30, 2008 replacing UGA VI.
UGA 7 owner Frank Sonny Seiler issued a statement today:
“We are all in state of shock. We had no warning whatsoever.”
Meanwhile, Damon Evans, UGA athletics director, issued the following statement moments ago:
“This is a very sad day for the Seiler family but also for all Georgia people. Just as his ancestors, he had captured the hearts of college football fans everywhere as the country’s number one mascot. He had been truly embraced by all those who follow the Georgia Bulldogs across the country. We will miss him clearly.”
