It was reportedly that this accident was happened about 1pm on Friday while the Brokaw was in the left lane of the Northbound Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx. Brokaw was with his wife Meredith when the car accident was happened. This highway tragedy involves a three-car accident that leaves a 30-year-old woman dead and causes injury to a mail truck driver.

Police and Brokaw’s have the following statement regarding the accident on New York City Highway;

“A 1998 Ford Expedition swerved to avoid a spool of cable bouncing in the far right lane, which caused the driver of the SUV to lose control. The Expedition overturned and then collided with the mail truck. Suejas Estrada of the Bronx was thrown from the Expedition and killed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brokaws said the out-of-control Expedition forced the mail truck into the couple’s lane. The truck collided with Brokaw’s vehicle. The 54-year-old driver of the mail truck was taken to Westchester Medical Center with bumps and bruises. He was in stable condition Friday.”

Tom Brokaw and his wife Meredith release a statement on how they were greatly saddened by this loss of life. It will be a traumatic experience to both couples that they will never forget the sad day of this car accident but for all those things they should be thankful and lucky enough to be unhurt with this kind of accident. From then, he becomes the NBC news anchorman and the managing editor of the program NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw.
