The Artist Dominated Baftas

Baftas, the British equivalent to Oscars was dominated by The Artist, silent movie took seven prizes including the best film, best original screenplay, best director and best actor.

Michel Hazanavicius the director of the movie said that some people thought that there was no script for the movie.

“It’s because there was no dialogue so the British are very clever,” he said.

The Iron Lady brought the best actrees award for Meryl Streep and The Artist‘s Dujardin got the best actor award.

” I am thrilled to be in the company of such illustrious, talented actors as fellow nominees Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, George Clooney and Michael Fassbender.”, Dujardin said.

He also said that it’s an honor to receive the award in the country of Laurence Oliver, William Webb Ellis and Benny Hill.

The Artist is the silent movie about an actor George Valentin who stared in the silent movie era and it is also one of the favorites in a run for the most prestigious film awards – Oscars.

The Oscars night is on February 26 and it is expected that The Artist will pick up the most important statues. In this awards season warming up for the Oscars became a bit boring due to The Artist picks up most of the awards, but surprises are not to be excluded.

Don’t forget that Oscars depends on votes and that other awards based on moviemakers opinions, but many critics claims that surprises would be really surprises when it comes to The Artist.

It is also, according to many critics, a masterpiece to make a dynamic and interesting film in the era of 21st century movies filled with effects and technology advantages.
