She is well known for her powerful yet very calm and soothing voice where she got the title as the Asia’s song bird. Regine Velasquez is actually my favorite female singer that I never get tired listening to her songs or watching the movies that she made. For over a decade of her career in showbiz which includes the movie and music industry in the Philippines, she never failed to mesmerize and captivate the hearts of the Filipino people with her excellent performance and passion to her art. Regine Velasquez is definitely in the list of Hall of Famer of Philippine Artists.

Her real name is Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez. She was born on April 22, 1970 which makes her roughly around 40 years old now and still have not tied the knot yet.
Regine Velasquez (born Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez on April 22, 1970) is a Filipino singer, actress, record producer and TV host. She was dubbed the Asia’s Songbird after winning the 1989 Asia Pacific Singing Contest in Hong Kong and is widely known for possessing a wide and powerful vocal range.[1]

1. SOP – She is currently a main stay host at the ever popular noon time dance and singing show SOP where she started since 1997.
2. Party Pilipinas - a new show that she is hosting which started only a few months ago this year 2010. This is a concert variety show where lots of other artists sing and dance.
3. Diva – Philippine’s First Kantaserye show also started this 2010
4. Darna – She also portrayed a role in the hit TV Series Darna starring Marian Rivera where she played the role of Electra the woman from another planet. The series lasted from 2009 to the early months of 2010.
5. The Eva Castillo Story – A GMA 7 cinemaserye where she portrayed herself as Regine Velasquez. Eva Castillo is the only one who beat Regine Velasquez in a singing contest before Regine joined a national competition which started to light her career. This was aired the Philippine Television last 2009.
6. Are you the next big star? – Another GMA 7 singing show in search for Filipinos who are great at singing. It only lasted for a year last 2009.
7. Totoy Bato – A hit TV series starring Robin Padilla where she played the role of Anna Molina, the love interest of Totoy Bato. The series ended up last 2009.
8. Ako si Kim Samsoon – This is an adaptation of a romantic comedy Korea Novela which captured the hearts of Filipinos. The series started and ended in the year 2008.
9. Song Bird – A late night musical show where she is the main host. The show lasted for a year, also in 2008
10. Celebrity Duets – This is actually my favorite show where Regine Velasquez is the main host. The show features celebrities partnered by a professional dancer or singer to perform onstage competing with other celebrities. Celebrity Duets started in the year 2007 and people are still expecting for a new season this 2010.
11. Pinoy Pop Superstar – Also one of my favorites and one of the longest shows that Regine Velasquez hosted. It started in 2004 to 2007. This show produced singing sensations like Hazel, Jonalyn Viray, Maricris Garcia and Gerald Santos.
12. Forever in my Heart – A TV Series where she portrayed the role of Angeline. The series was completed last 2004.
13. Search For A Star – A singing show which she also hosted that aims to search for the brightest and talented singers in the Philippines. The show lasted for more than a year from 2003 to 2004.
14. Star for a night – Showcasing amateur singers and developing their potentials. She is the main host of this show which started and ended in 2002 to 2003 respectively.
