Phillies Fan Tasered – It was in the eighth inning of the game between Phillies and Cardinals when a fan hopped a fence at the gaming field of Citizens Bank Park. He tried to escape a security until a police security officer of Philadelphia fired him with a taser gun about 15 feet away, dropping him on the spot in left center field. It was then learned that the 17 years old boy called his father and ask permission before running on the field. With this incident, this young boy will be facing charges as a juvenile for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and defiant trespass.
However, there is on-going debate whether the use of the stun gun was appropriate for a fan running in the open field. The Philadelphia Inquirer police internal affairs will also conduct investigation to determine if the incident of firing was proper use of the equipment.
