November 2009 Philippine Holidays - Last Friday, Manong Nick, my kids service driver told me that kids will be having another long vacation after a long vacation from Typhoon Ondoy. Their make-up classes during Saturdays and no sem break this year, will not be enough to fill in the lost time in school. Well, I guess students and laborers are looking forward every month what day will Philippine Holidays will fall. Hate to admit it but it’s true ![]()
This year November 1, 2, 27, 28 and 30 will be all November 2009 Philippine Holidays. November 1, All Saint’s Day is a national holiday, since this year it will fall on Sunday, thus November 2, Monday, is also declared as special non-working holiday by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
She also declared November 27 (Friday) and 28 (Saturday) as national holiday in celebration of Eid’l Adha.
According to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, “on the eve of her birthday, President Arroyo has signified her intention to declare November 27 and 28, 2009 as national holidays in celebration of the Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice, the culmination of the Islamic world’s Harirya Hajj or the pilgrimage to Makkah (Mecca), Saudi Arabia, of Muslims all over the world.”
And last Philippine Holidays for this month is on November 30, Monday and it’s Bonifacio Day. So, it’s a long weekend – a four-day work break from 27 until 30. Haayzz Boracay!
