A Quincy, Massachusetts man was arrested Monday in the death of a woman who advertised massage services on craigslist.com.

a 22-year-old medical student at Boston University,Philip H. Markoff, is suspected of being the so-called Craigslist Killer.

Phil Markoff, was arrested by Boston police after being stopped south of Boston on Interstate 95 in Walpole, authorities said that the Boston University medical student was under surveillance “for days” before making the arrest.

Markoff is charged with killing of 26-year-old masseuse Julissa Brisman, who advertise massage service on Craigslist, was shot several times after struggling with a man who answered her ad, who was found dead at the Marriot Copley Place Hotel in Boston April 14.

Philip Markoff is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday.

According to a District Attorney, Daniel Conley, Markoff is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and  with kidnapping and armed robbery in a separate case involving another woman he met on craigslist.

Police said they had long suspected that Brisman’s killer was connected to an earlier robbery at the Westin Copley Hotel in Boston.

Authorities also believe that Phil Markoff may be responsible for the attempted robbery Thursday in Warwick, of an exotic dancer by a man responding to an ad she had posted on craigslist. She was held at gunpoint before her husband entered the room and her attacker fled.

Based on the photos released by Warwick police show a man in a dark jacket with a baseball cap pulled low, covering much of his face. The surveillance photos of the man were similar to those released last week from the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

In the Warwick case, the exotic dancer from Las Vegas said she was tied up and held at gunpoint in her hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express.

The woman, who has traveled to Rhode Island at other times to perform at the Cadillac Lounge strip club, in Providence, credited her escape to her husband, who had been waiting downstairs and came into the room because she wasn’t answering his calls.

Warwick Police Chief Stephen McCartney said, the assailant turned his gun on the husband and began to chase him down the hallway when the woman, still bound, managed to slam the door behind them. That move panicked the suspect, who then turned in the opposite direction and ran from the hotel.

McCartney said he didn’t see a connection at first to the Boston killing, until the woman volunteered that the attacker’s mode of operation seemed to be a “mirror image” of what occurred in Boston two days earlier.

The Warwick hotel’s surveillance video footage was turned over to the Boston police.

McCartney said earlier in the evening that he was going to leave it up to Boston police to comment on the case “because it’s their arrest and their charges.”

The first reported attack in Boston at the Westin, a woman was bound with what a witness said were plastic zip ties. The woman was robbed of a debit card, $800 in cash, and $250 in American Express gift cards.

While, Julissa Brisman was shot to death at the door of her room on the 20th floor of the Marriott Copley and the assailant had tried to bind her hands with plastic ties.

“There may be other victims out there, and if you are, we want you to come forward,” said Conley.
