Free One Love One Ocean concert by Jimmy Buffett draws crowd

More than 35,000 fans gathered in a beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama to watch singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett in concert for free. The One Love One Ocean concert was organized to help the Gulf Coast through the oil spill crisis. Organizers only made 35,000 tickets, but the real attendance count wasn’t available. The concert was originally scheduled on July 1 but had been postponed because of heavy waves caused by Hurricane Alex.

Alabama Gov. Bob Riley says the state might use its $15 million in tourism promotion money from BP to stage additional shows through the fall. The crowd included Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.

T-shirt with One Love One Ocean logo can be purchased upon roof tiles of Lulus Marina site – owned as well as operated by Jimmy Buffett’s sister Lucy.

James William “Jimmy” Buffett (born Dec 25, 1946) is a singer, songwriter, author, businessman, as well as movie producer.
