Maclaren Stroller Recall / Maclaren Stroller

Maclaren Stroller- I can’t believe how complicated strollers are now. Maybe the simpler the design the fewer accidents there would be. In my experience, and of all the strollers I used, my own children helped me set up and break down, not a one caused this kind of problem. There may have been a couple of times where I personally caught my finger, but that was because I wasn’t paying attention and it was about as bad as closing your hand in a door — painful, but not like the Maclaren Stroller case– amputated.

England-based stroller company Maclaren is recalling one million strollers sold in the United States between 1999 and 2009 after a dozen children reportedly had their fingertips amputated by the stroller’s hinge mechanism.

The Maclaren stroller recall includes all nine models of single and double umbrella Maclaren strollers, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) the affected models are the Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

The CPSC recommends that consumers immediately stop using these recalled strollers and contact Maclaren USA to receive a free repair kit. Maclaren can be reached at toll-free at (877) 688-2326 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit www.maclaren.us/recall.

But the Maclaren stroller recall has overloaded the server of Maclaren’s Web site, that’s why the company’s Web site has been slow today.
