Kat Von D and former Dead Man and Monster Garage star Jesse James announced they had ended their engagement and split in July, then the couple got back together and were once again engaged the following month. However, the two has broken up once again and Kat Von D suggested it was her decision.
In the final episode of L.A. Ink, Kat Von D suggested that she and her West Coast Choppers beau open up and address some of the problems they were dealing with as they juggled their jobs and a long-distance relationship between L.A. and Austin.
Kat Von D told People, “It was clear to me that we were just on two different paths in life. My friend put it best when he said I could never be more deserving of total, noble love. And as a woman, I think it’s important to know your value and never lose sight of that.”
Kat Von D said in a Facebook post Friday entitled “Odds and Ends,” aimed to set the record straight at some recurring questions and clearing up some of the confusion she says she’s faced since the reality show ended Sept. 15. She wrote, “I am not in a relationship. And I apologize for all the ‘back and forth’ if it’s caused any confusion. I am not in any way moving to Texas. I am not opening up another tattoo shop. And I am not leaving my shop here in Los Angeles, High Voltage Tattoo.”
“I wish Jesse nothing but the best in life and in love.”
On August 18, Kat Von D and Jesse James had announced that their engagement was back-on after breaking up for the first time in July. People Magazine quoted Jessie James saying, “Sometimes you are only given one chance in life. It was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her.”
As recently as September 11, Jesse James was singing the praises of Kat Von D, writing on his Tumblr blog that his favorite things about the tattoo artist are “Her beautiful smile, her silly laugh. Her warm heart, and her drive to make the world a better place.”
Their engagement was announced hours after the cable network TLC announced that it would stop airing Kat Von D’s reality show, “LA Ink” in September, more than four years after its debut. The final episode aired on September 15, 2011.
Kay Von D, 28, and Jesse James, the 42-year-old ex-husband of actress Sandra Bullock, became engaged earlier this year. And the two confirmed their split in late July.
Kat Von D has said that her high profile relationship with Jessie James, who admitted to cheating on Sandra Bullock while they were married, caused a lot of “turmoil” with friends and family.
“LA Ink” is depicted the Kat Von D’s life as a tattoo artist in Los Angeles. Its ratings have dropped over the past year.
Kat Von D reacted to the news on Twitter, saying: “I love how me deciding to not continue doing ‘LA Ink,’ turns into being ‘canceled.’ Thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful.”
To be honest, they probably never broke up in the first place and this whole day of Kat Von D news smells like a publicity stunt to me. At the exact same time as Von D was whining about L.A. Ink’s cancellation on Twitter/ People, she was simultaneously announcing her re-engagement to Jesse James. Pretty much, she went on a rant about how TLC manipulated her show in the edit and how she walked away. And moments later, SURPRISE! She’s back in her relationship and engagement with James. They’re not even subtle. At least they should have wait a day, like, a week, between publicity stunts. Look now… Kat Von D and Jesse James has broken up once again!
