Hob Knocker David James Archuleta, born December 28, 1990, is an American singer-songwriter.
At ten years old, David Archuleta competed and won at Utah Talent Competition of the children’s division and leading to other television singing appearances. He became the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search at twelve.
In 2007, He became one of the youngest finalist on the seventh season of American Idol at the age of sixteen years old. He rose up through the competition and became the runner-up on the show receiving 44 percent of over 97 million votes in May 2008.
David Archuleta released his first single “Crush” in August 2008, from his self-titled debut album and the highest-ranking debut single release of any American Idol contestant. The album, released in November 2008, debuted at the number-two spot on the Billboard 200 chart as of January 2009. And it has sold over 610,000 copies in the U.S.
Archuleta will be singing the national anthem at the NFL Pro Bowl at Hawaii following the footsteps of fellow American Idol Jennifer Hudson. He was inspired by Hudson to do such a performance at the bowl.
Archuleta will be hitting the center-stage before he goes off on his solo tour which kicks off on Feb 24.
