Grace van Cutsem : The Cute Frowning Bridesmaid
Who was that cute and frowning little girl covering her ears on the balcony during the big kiss? Meet three-year-old Grace van Cutsem, Prince William’s goddaughter, who gets fed up with the noise of the crowd and covered her ears, leaned on the ledge and stared balefully at the crowd as the royal couple William and Kate share a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
The crowds outside Buckingham Palace were all begging for Prince William and Kate Middleton to kiss -but one young bridesmaid’s expression stole the show. Grace van Cutsem, the new Duke of Cambridge’s goddaughter, covered her ears as the royal couple locked lips behind her. However, Kate tried to comfort the little girl, whose comedy moment apparently came after she became overwhelmed by the noise of the event as some 500,000 people massed in The Mall outside the palace.
Grace van Cutsem, who was one of the official bridesmaids is the daughter of Lady Rose Astor and Hugh van Cutsem, and great-great-great-granddaughter of William Waldorf Astor, a New York-born lawyer and politician who later became a member of the British Aristocracy.
