Animal lovers joined an online search for a young woman who features in a 44-second-long video throwing puppies into a river to drown them. When the shocking girl throws puppies into a river video was posted online, more than 1,500 people have joined a Facebook group titled “Find the girl throwing puppies in the river.”
The video, which is believed to have been made in Croatia, begins with a young woman dressed in a red sweater throwing a whimpering puppy into a fast-flowing river. She then bends down and takes another puppy from a bucket before tossing it into the water. The woman throws a total of six puppies into the river during the video. The video was posted on Facebook and on the video sharing website LiveLeaks. Almost 500,000 viewers watched the video on the LiveLeaks website — although the video was later taken down.

I think this is a young girl who has been doing this for many years, so she is desensitized to the pain of another living thing. Perhaps her dog has had pups many, many times and the family cannot feed nor find homes for them. So, Papa says to throw them into the river. Good grief. Growing up in Florida, we had a neighbor who did that, except he put them into a feed bag and tossed it all at once. That image has been in my head for 40 years, as it was a horrific thing to know as a child.
This is why I cannot understand why people will take ownership of an animal, but will not have it spayed or neutered, will not provide it with veterinary care, or provide it shelter. I guess as long as it stays around and they can throw it some food every once in a while, they are okay with it.
When we allow our pets to breed unwanted babies, we are forcing someone, some unseen person employed in a pound somewhere to do basically the same thing. Those people have to do it, and they want to save the dogs from all that suffering, but there are just too many hundreds of thousands of them. We are just not around to have to witness it.
Psychologists point out that when people are willing to kill animals indiscriminately for pleasure, the taboo of killing another human being all but disappears.

How does throwing this girl into the river make you any better than her? I do find this video offensive and feel bad for the dog/puppy.
