I’ve suffered from this since I was an adolescent, I am 25 now. It started off happening very rarely but now it happens weekly. It feels to me exactly like a bomb went off inside my head, like my brain popped inside my skull. I see a bright flash like I was hit in the head upon waking as I jump up gasping for air. But then nothing, I let my heart slow, lie back down and go back to sleep. I am fascinated by it now and want to do more and more research. I do have a few other sleep disorders, Delayed Sleep Syndrome and Idiopathic Hypersomnia with Long Sleep Time if that is of any help at all to anyone reading this.

That’s good to hear Simon :)

People should work with the goal to enjoy life to its fullest. Not to get sick or suffer from any diseases or disorders like exploding head syndrome caused by being stressed out from work.

The name of the condition sounds far worse than the symptoms but as over working are one of the causes I don’t think I’ll ever suffer from it :)
