Angel Locsin – was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in the 37th Emmy Award of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (IATAS) for her role as a she-wolf of ABS-CBN’s “LOBO” which also stars Piolo Pascual as her leading man. The pronouncement was made during a press conference at the Cannes France. The awards night will be on November 23 in Hilton New York Hotel, New York City. Locsin is the only Asian nominated in that prestigious award. It was the second recognition earned by the TV series; the first was when it won the 30th BANFF World Television Awards.

Angel Locsin is the second Filipino actress to be nominated in the best actress category in the International Emmy; the first was Tessie Tomas for her role as Imelda Marcos in 1989’s “A Dangerous Life.”

There are 17 countries that will participate in the event in which the Philippines received three nominations. These includes two local series that were nominated under the Best Telenovela category .ABS-CBN’s “Kahit Isang Saglit” with an english title “ A Time for Us” and stars Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo and GMA’s “Magdusa Ka” which stars Dennis Trillo, Katrina Halili and Iwa Moto. Her manager Becky Aguila will accompany Angel Locsin to the said event. She shared that she’s still not getting over her nomination and expresses all the excitement that she’s feeling for the upcoming awards night.

Meanwhile, Angel Locsin is continuing her Shop and Share program. A website launched by Angel and friends which aims to help typhoon victims. The site showcases bags and other treasured belongings of celebrities to auction and give the proceeds to typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng victims in the Philippines.
