Edu Manzano is Gibo’s VP

Edu Manzano is Gibo’s VP – TV Game show and former Optical Media Board Chairman is running for Vice President. He will be now the running mate of Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, the Administration bet for 2010 election. This was confirmed by the Interior SecretaryRonaldo Puno after a surprise announcement during a press conference in Shangri-La Makati.

“The person who has accepted the challenge of standing beside Secretary Teodoro in the quest to become the next president of the Republic of the Philippines and the next vice-president of the Republic of the Philippines, no other than former OMB chairman Edu Manzano,” Puno announced.

When ask what makes him accept the offer to be Teodoro’s running mate, Edu told reporters that a “Well–Funded campaign” and because he “Support Lakas-Kampi’s platform” are the main reason for it. Being in the Administration coalition’s party machinery and campaign expenses will totally shouldered and be handled by the ruling party. This concern was also one factor why Edu Manzano suppose to take his oath as LP member and to become a part of their Senatorial slate of Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III for president and Senator Mar Roxas for Vice president was been cancelled. Edu Manzano revealed that Liberal Party is running a campaign on a shoestring budget and even have those ‘piso-piso’ contributions. From there he manage to share his previous traumatic experience in 2001 when he ran for City Mayor of Makati (whom he loss to Mayor Binay) that he was forced to sell his house after running out of money for the campaign. Second factor is the trust that Lakas-kampi is the right party that can move the country forward. Teodoro and Edu are not only friends they have been a schoolmate at De La Salle University, One thing common for them is that they both possesses intelligence, having same agenda and both starting fresh in the politics.

Edu Manzano served as Chairman of Optical Media Board and shows a very concerned about the moral rectitude of the youth, Quality of a leader was been tested during his term as a Vice Mayor of Makati City. While Gilbert Teodoro has the lowest standing on SWS survey for Presidential hopeful, Does it really be in great help that Edu Manzano is Gibo’s VP?
